FUNCTION
The wattmetric relay E 492N measures
the voltage (V) and the current in the
line (I), besides it computes the cos
and the ACTIVE POWER as product
of:
W = 1,73 V I cos
USE
The electric motor is the most common
load to be controlled by an active
power relay. The active power supplied
to the motor gives the direct
information of the instant load of the
motor itself. Such information is more
accurate than the one given by the
current value.
As a matter of fact the cos variations
may change the power value without
affecting the current value

ANALOG VOLTAGE OUTPUT
Voltage 0-10Vdc is available between
the pin 7(+) and 8 (0V) - max 1mA.
Such voltage is proportional to the
instant active power measured by
E 492N, and can be displayed by DC
VOLTMETER DVD 08 as “100” or
other value (fig. 9).
The analog output is present when the
input current overcomes at least 1/20
of the current full scale selected by K.
POSITIVE SAFETY
Each output relay - change over
contact - associated to each set point,
is normally ON and it turns OFF in
case of alarm.

No specific order to be followed.
The maximum threephase voltage is
415 Vac. For higher voltages, it is
requested the application of:
M 08 : Threephase drop resistances +
CT for insulation.
